I handled location audio for this Taste the Obsession branded content production. Food and culinary content presents specific sound challenges: the kitchen environment is loud (ventilation, equipment, sizzling), yet the creative usually wants intimate, close-up audio that feels tactile.

The approach for food-forward content is typically a boom for the presenter’s dialogue, with additional ambient track to capture the kitchen sounds the editor will want as texture. Getting the balance right between clean dialogue and evocative ambient — without one drowning out the other — is a matter of careful gain staging and mic positioning.
