SRP Helps Bring Power to Hundreds of Navajo Families

I handled location audio for this Salt River Project production documenting their effort to bring electrical power to hundreds of Navajo families living without it. SRP’s Navajo electrification initiative is a significant ongoing program, and this piece is part of the ongoing documentation of that work.

I’ve worked on multiple SRP Navajo productions, and the field conditions are consistent: remote locations accessible only by unpaved roads, extreme temperatures, minimal infrastructure, and the honest emotion of families receiving power for the first time. The sound recordist’s job here is to capture that without intrusion — the natural ambient, the reactions, and the dialogue of people experiencing a genuinely significant moment in their lives.
