SR85 Landfill

I handled location audio for this production documenting the SR85 landfill facility. Industrial and infrastructure documentary work involves some of the more challenging acoustic environments: heavy equipment, mechanical noise, wind across open terrain, and the general ambient of an active industrial site.

Getting clean dialogue from facility personnel and management at an active landfill requires directional mic technique and careful noise floor management. The ambient sound of the facility is part of what communicates the industrial scale of the operation, so capturing useful ambience alongside clean dialogue is the dual objective.
