I worked on production audio for NFL Films’ Game Day All Access Week 15 Mic’d Up segment. By Week 15, NFL seasons are at their most intense — playoff positioning is on the line and the emotional stakes on the sideline and in the huddle are high. That energy comes through on the mics.

Wireless transmitters on players need to be checked carefully at each game; jersey configurations change, pad setups vary by opponent, and the physical wear on the transmitters accumulates over a long season. Coach mics on the sideline face the additional challenge of freezing temperatures in late-season outdoor games, which affects battery performance. Managing those variables while keeping audio rolling throughout a four-hour broadcast window is the core of this work.
